Profesori i njohur Stephen Hawking ka vdekur në moshën 76-vjeçare, tha një zëdhënës i familjes së tij. Teoricieni i fizikës ndërroi jetë në shtëpinë e tij në Cambridge të Anglisë mëngjesin e së mërkurës.
Teoricieni ëm i mirë i fizikës së kohës së tij, Hawking shkroi qartë për misteret e hapësirës, kohës dhe vrimave të zeza sa që libri i tij “Një histori e shkurtër e kohës” u bë bestseller ndërkombëtar, duke e bërë atë një ndër shkencëtarët më të famshëm që nga Albert Einstein.
Edhe pse trupi i tij u sulmua nga një sëmundje neuronesh kur Haëking ishte 21 vjeç, ai habiti mjekët duke jetuar normalisht me sëmundjen fatale për më shumë se 50 vjet.

Jane and Stephen Hawking (pictured together in 1962) met through mutual friends at a party in 1962. The next year Hawking was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
